La Choza
Authentic homemade Mexican food cooked to perfection for over fifteen years.
La Choza Restaurant was established in 1989 by Doña Eliza Espinosa and her Family from Guanajuato, Mexico.
Using only classic recipes from Doña Eliza’s mother, the restaurant soon became a favorite for a reasonably priced breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night snacks.
Today, they keep the central Mexican cuisine authentic and La Choza remains famous amongst locals, divers, cruise ship passengers and other visitors to the island.

This popular restaurant and bar is right on the main square downtown, so it’s always busy with island visitors and locals alike.
The menu is traditional Mexican, with dishes such as enchiladas, fajitas, tacos, guacamole, fish and steak. You can eat inside in the cozy dining room or out on the terrace overlooking the square.
Great on Sunday evenings, when live music plays and people dance in the plaza.

Margaritaville

Margaritaville, which is busy with tourists day and night, is part of a chain owned by famous US singer-songwriter, Jimmy Buffett.The air-conditioned party-themed bar and restaurant includes a decked terrace area overlooking the port.
It also has a store, selling a range of Margaritaville merchandise.
Margaritaville Cozumel has 500 seats and sits directly on the Caribbean Sea. It has a tiki bar on the water’s edge and a second floor view.
At night you can see the lights of Playa del Carmen. During the day the cruise ships dock a few hundred yards away.
The Margaritaville group also has locations in nearby Cancun, as well as Key West, New Orleans, Orlando, Charleston, Las Vegas, Myrtle Beach, Jamaica, Turks and Caicos and Grand Cayman.

If you want to experience some real local Mayan food off the beaten track, this no frills restaurant serves tacos (filled maize tortillas) and tortas (a type of sandwich) with cochinita pibil Sundays to Fridays and lechon al horno on Saturdays.
Cochinita pibil is pork marinaded in orange juice and Mayan spices and lechon al horno is a kind of Mayan roast suckling pig. The meat is cooked fresh daily and the flavors and prices are fantastic.

Also known fondly as the Embassy Restaurant and Supper Club, US recording artist, Tony Rome, has been serving great food, solving problems and entertaining visitors on the island for years.
